Quality Bus & Truck Parts Warranty Policy

At Quality Bus & Truck Parts, we stand behind the quality of our products. All purchases come with a standard 30-day warranty starting from the date of purchase. A valid receipt is required to process any warranty claim. Failure to provide a receipt voids the warranty.

Coverage & Warranty Solutions

This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship when the product is used under normal operating conditions. If a defect arises within the warranty period, Quality Bus & Truck Parts will work closely with the customer to determine the most appropriate solution. Possible resolutions include, but are not limited to:

  • Replacing the product
  • Providing an appropriate refund or in-store credit
  • Repairing the defective part

Warranty for Engines & Transmissions

Engines and transmissions are covered under a 90-day warranty from the date of purchase. To qualify for a warranty claim, the installation must strictly follow the installation & warranty guides outlined on our website. Please read the installation guidelines carefully before use.

Used Engine Installation and Warranty Guide

Important Notice: Please Read Before Installation

Thank you for purchasing a used engine from Quality Bus & Truck Parts. By choosing a used engine, you are making a cost-effective decision while also contributing to environmental sustainability through recycling.

Warranty Information

This engine is covered under our standard parts warranty when used under normal driving conditions. The warranty begins on the date of purchase and guarantees protection against engine knocking and excessive smoking.

Shipping and Inspection

Upon delivery, carefully inspect the engine for any shipping-related damage. Any damage must be noted on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves. Failure to do so will prevent you from making a shipping damage claim under warranty.

Pre-Installation Requirements

To ensure the longevity of your engine and maintain warranty coverage, the following pre-installation maintenance must be performed. Retain all receipts, as they are required for any warranty claims.

  1. Oil & Filters: Drain and replace the engine oil using the manufacturer’s approved specifications and recommended levels. Replace all filters, including oil, coolant, air, and fuel filters.
  2. Cooling System: Replace the thermostat and gasket. Flush the cooling system and refill it with the manufacturer’s recommended antifreeze. Inspect the radiator for proper function.
  3. Seals & Gaskets: Replace the rear main seal and inspect all other seals and gaskets before installation.
  4. Component Inspection: Inspect and, if necessary, replace the water pump, belts, fuel lines, oil pump pick-up screen, and hoses.
  5. Lubrication System: Prime the lubrication system to prevent a dry start. Manually rotate the crankshaft before installation.
  6. Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF): If applicable, inspect the DPF and clean or replace it as needed.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover the cost of:

  • Accessories. This includes, but is not limited to alternators, starters, manifolds, water pumps, clutches, pumps and electrical components.
  • Labor
  • Towing
  • Shipping
  • Taxes
  • Credit card processing fees
  • Loss of income or other incidental expenses.

Warranty Limitations

  • Overheating or operating the engine with low or no oil will immediately void the warranty. Heat tabs have been installed as a precaution. Removal of these tabs will void the warranty.
  • The warranty will be void if the engine has been disassembled before our inspection.

Core Return Policy

Engine Core Return Policy

Before scheduling a core return pickup, please ensure that the following requirements are met. 

Core Return Requirements

  • The core must be of the same type, model, and part number as the unit purchased.
  • The core must be returned in a plastic POD or securely banded on a skid.
  • All fluids must be completely drained before shipping or pickup.
  • Red caps from the new engine must be transferred to the core to prevent fluid leakage.

Environmental Compliance & Fees

Per Federal EPA regulations, all fluids must be drained from engine cores before shipping. Failure to comply will result in a $75 charge per instance.

  • If the engine was received in a protective plastic POD, it must be returned with the core to avoid a $200 charge.
  • For engines shipped on skids, please retain the original skid for securing the core return. There is a $100 skid fee, which will be refunded upon return of the skid with the core.

Core Credit Eligibility

To receive full credit for a returned core, it must be free of visible cracks or significant damage. Please review the provided documentation for a detailed list of components that affect core credit value.

Transmission Core Return Policy

Before scheduling a core return pickup, please ensure that the following requirements are met.

Shipping Policy

Shipping & Returns Policy

To ensure a smooth delivery process, please review the following shipping and return policies. 

Parcel Shipping

Delivery times may vary. It is essential to provide a complete and accurate shipping address. If a package is returned due to an insufficient address, the customer will be contacted for clarification and may be subject to additional shipping charges. If you have concerns about your address, please contact us immediately at 888-315-2575.

If we become aware of any shipping delays, we will notify the customer as soon as possible.

  • In-stock items (on-the-shelf inventory) ordered before 2pm CST will ship the same day. Orders placed after 2pm CST will ship the next business day.
  • Orders placed on Saturday, Sunday, or holidays will be processed on the next business day.
  • Any errors in your order must be reported within 30 days of receipt.
  • International shipments are subject to a $15 handling fee in addition to shipping costs. For more details, email [email protected].
  • We are not responsible for carrier delays which may include weather, lost packages, etc.

Large Items (Engines, Transmissions, etc.)

We offer LTL freight shipping to any location within the contiguous United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii).

  • For international shipments, including Canada and Mexico, or shipments to Alaska and Hawaii, customers should contact us at 888-315-2575 to determine the best shipping solution.
  • Large items require proper crating and preparation. Please allow up to 48 hours for these items to be shipped.
  • Customers are encouraged to call for updates regarding their order status.

Returns Policy

  • Customers are responsible for covering shipping costs for returns, except in cases where the return is due to our error (e.g., incorrect or faulty item received). In such cases, a call tag or refund for return shipping will be issued.
  • Returns and errors must be reported within 30 days of receipt.
  • Refunds and exchanges will not be granted for errors due to buyer negligence.
  • A 20% restocking fee may apply to returned items, particularly for special order items.
  • Customers must contact us before returning the product for a return authorization.
